Obituary of Henry P. Dyck

Beloved husband of Helen, and much loved father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Henry Peters Dyck went home to be with his Lord and Saviour on August 2, 2008, at the age of 78, in Bethesda Hospital, Steinbach, MB. He was born in Aberdeen, SK on October 3, 1929 to Heinrich A. and Margaretha Dyck. He graduated from Steinbach Bible College and Eastern Mennonite College. He was a pastor, bible college teacher and carpenter. His interests were in world history and politics and he had a love of flying, golfing, tools and books. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Helen (Loeppky) Dyck, six children: Margaret (Ray) Wiebe, of Steinbach, MB; Marti (Jeff) Plett, of Three Hills, AB; Netha (Bob) Kroeker, of Stonewall, MB; Dan (Ronnie) Dyck, of Lac du Bonnet, MB; Levi VanDyck, of Winnipeg, MB; Reyn (Lori) VonDyck, of Winnipeg, MB; fifteen grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers, Peter (Agatha) Dyck and Dave (Deanna) Dyck, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, sister Margaret and brother Jake. We as a family would like to express our thanks to his many caregivers over the past years. He would like to be remembered for his faith and commitment to Jesus Christ and his prayer was “Oh that to me the small becomes smaller and that which is truly tall becomes taller.” He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Canadian Bible Society, 952 St. Mary’s Road; Wpg., MB R2M 3R8. The funeral service will be held at Birchwood Funeral Chapel on Thursday, August 7 at 10:30 a.m. with viewing prior to the service. Interment at Heritage Cemetery.
