Obituary of Helen Bueckert

Peacefully in the evening of August 15, 2008, Helen Bueckert went home to be with the Lord, she loved and served. Helen was born to Abraham and Helen (Schapansky) Knelsen on April 2, 1909. She was the eldest of six children. Helen grew up on a farm in the McMahon area of Saskatchewan. She married Aron Bueckert on November 15, 1936 and they celebrated fifty-seven plus years of marriage. Three children were born to Helen and Aron; Ernie, Johnnie (deceased in infancy) and Gordon. Helen is survived by her children Ernie (Sarah) and Gordon (Mary) along with her grandchildren Kathie(Jake) Thiessen, Helen (Jake) Reimer, Ben Bueckert, Ernest (Judy) Bueckert, Sarah (Jake) Schroeder, Martha (Sam) Schroeder, John (Connie Friesen) Bueckert, Rebecca (Peter) Friesen; 21 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Mary Olfert, brothers John Knelsen and Jake (Susie) Knelsen, sister Jessie Krahn. She was predeceased by her parents Abraham and Helen Knelsen; her husband Aron (August 1994); son Johnnie, brother-in-laws Cornie Olfert (1984), George Krahn 1985, sister-in-law Nellie Knelsen (2007) and her brother Abe (2008). The service for Helen Bueckert will be held Wednesday, August 20, 2008, at 2:00 p.m., at the Evangelical Mennonite Church, 422 Main Street, Steinbach, with interment at Heritage Cemetery.
