Obituary of Amable Delorme

After a courageous battle with cancer, with his family by his side, Amable Delorme of Marchand passed away on December 27, 2000 at Bethesda Hospital. Amable will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 54 years, Regina; and his children Doris Lepine (Rick), John (Roseanne), Gerald (Geraldine), Patricia Meurrens (Neal), Paul (Donna), Roger, Bill (Rose) and Dennis. Also left to cherish his memory are 24 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son Albert. Amable and his wife Regina were born and raised in Marchand and were married on June 29, 1946. Dad enjoyed the outdoors and especially loved working in the bush. Though physically demanding, his profession as a woodsman gave him much joy and he spent many years providing for his family in this manner. Until several years ago, when ill health forced him to slow down, Amable could still be found in the bush helping find and bring home firewood for his children’s needs. Amable’s terrific sense of humor as well as his strength and courage will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Amable took great pride and interest in his family and was a constant source of inspiration to everyone around him. The family would like to thank Dr. R. Hamm for his sincere and thoughtful words and efforts in this most difficult time. The family would also like to express their thanks to the nursing staff of Bethesda Hospital for making our father as comfortable as possible during his stay at the hospital. The funeral service was held on Saturday, December 30, 2000 at Birchwood Funeral Chapel.
