Peacefully on Monday, November 15, 1999 at her residence our loving mother Anganetha Thiessen of Winnipeg, age 89 years, widow of the late Aron Thiessen went to be with her Lord. Funeral service will be held at Springfield Heights Mennonite Church on Friday, November 19, 1999 at 10:30 a.m. with interment to follow at Elmwood Cemetery. Viewing will be prior to the service. Mom was born on May 30, 1910, daughter of Peter and Katherina Regier in Ukraine where she was raised. She moved to Germany, Paraguay and eventually emigrated to Canada in 1960. In 1933 she married Aron Thiessen and together they raised 8 children. She was a strong Christian and was baptized on the confession of her faith in 1929. Predeceased by her husband Aron in 1981, son Peter in 1958, 1 granddaughter and 2 great-grandchildren, she leaves to mourn, her 5 daughters: Susan (Peter) Enns of Winnipeg, Tina (Hans) Janzen of Germany, Nettie (Nick) Loewen, Margaret (John) Kroeker, Annie (Wolfram) Grussendorf all of Winnipeg, and 2 sons Hans (Valerie) of Yorkton and Henry (Erna) of Winnipeg , 22 grand children, 26 great grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and friends. Should friends so desire memorial donations may be made to the Bethania Personal Care Home.
