Obituary of Stanley Plett

Stan Plett of Steinbach, beloved husband of Elma, passed away February 5, 2001 at the Bethesda Hospital with his family at his side after a lengthy battle with cancer. Stan will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife Elma of 40 years; children Russell, Val (Reg Reimer), Vivian (Harv Sawatzky) Vonda (Don Martens), Randy (Beth Slivinski); seven grandchildren; mother Annie Plett, four brothers, six sisters and their families. He was predeceased by daughter-in-law Mary Anne, grandson Brandon and his father Abram Plett Stan touched many lives. Among his many roles, he served as a teacher in Lynn Lake, as pastor in Rosenort, and most recently as president of Steinbach Bible College. He will always be remembered for his sense of humour, giving spirit, sense of adventure, and commitment to faith, family and friends. The funeral service will be held Thursday, February 8, at 2:00 p.m. at the Steinbach Evangelical Mennonite Church. Viewing will be held at Birchwood Funeral Chapel Wednesday, February 7, from 7 – 7:30 p.m. with a devotional at 7:30 p.m., and at the church prior to the service.
