It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of John Stratford Moore, aged 83 years, at the Villa Youville, St. Anne, MB on March 16, 2001 with his family at his side. Remaining to forever cherish his memory are his children Marlene (Dave), Doug (Val), Anne (Dennis), Don (Colette), Bill (Elaine) and stepchildren Sharon (Bruce), Rose, Danny (Donna), Alison (Roger), Wanda (Phil), Reg (Tammy). He will also be sadly missed by 19 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren. Strat (John) was born February 25, 1918 in Manitou, MB. He was predeceased by his first wife Roseline in 1964, his father John in 1974, his mother Nellie in 1984, his second wife Elsie in 1999 and one son in infancy. Strat auctioneered all his life, working for Winnipeg Livestock Exchange for 32 years. He also enjoyed his many private auction sales and made many friends along the way. He was a devoted father, grandfather and great grandfather. He enjoyed his fishing trips with Elsie and spent many days enjoying camping with family at Nutimik Lake. The funeral service for Strat will be held Tuesday, March 20, 2001 at 2:00 p.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel. Viewing will be held Monday, March 19, 7 - 8:00 p.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel. Interment at a later date. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to do so may make a donation in Strat’s memory to Villa Youville, 208 Central Ave.; St. Anne, MB R5H 1C9 or to the Grey Nuns.
