<p>Mary Pederson (nee Doerksen), born October 6, 1932, in Rheinland Municipality, Mom went home to be with Jesus after a short battle in the Health Sciences Centre, Winnipeg, MB., on Saturday, August 24, 2019.&nbsp;</p> <p>Left to cherish her memories are her daughter Shirley (Jim), daughter-in-law Kim (Bobby), grandsons Shawn, Jesse (Hayley) and Nathan (Natalie), great-grandsons Austin and Tyson, her sister Sue (Louie), sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, and many great friends.</p> <p>Mom was predeceased by her husband Palmer (2008), son Bobby (2001) and her six brothers and one sister.</p> <p>Mom is the perfect example of what unconditional love is.&nbsp; She grew up on the farm with her six brothers and two sisters and learned early how to share, serve others, and love even when you didn&rsquo;t feel like it.&nbsp; Her parents brought her up in a Christian home and she became a very hard worker leaving school at an early age to care for her family.&nbsp; She worked very hard her entire life, but she was especially proud of being a school bus driver in St. Norbert.&nbsp;</p> <p>In 1950, she married her handsome blonde-headed love of her life Palmer.&nbsp; Shirley was born two years later and two years after that her little brother Bob came along.&nbsp; We lived in Menisino on the farm near both grandparents.&nbsp; Mom always felt her greatest accomplishment was her family.&nbsp; Being raised on the farm she loved animals, nature, and spending time with friends.</p> <p>Much thanks to Uncle Roy, Mary K., Olga and the rest of her Fernwood Place family for your fun-loving ability to make each day a pleasure for Mom.&nbsp; Her memory will be cherished by everyone she touched and will never be forgotten.</p> <p>The family would like to thank the Health Science Center SICU and GA3 staff, Pastor Darrell Dyck and Birchwood Funeral Chapel for their help, care and compassion.</p> <p>A memorial service will be held Wednesday, August 28, 2019, at 11:00 a.m., at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB.</p> <p>An ash interment will be held at Menisino Cemetery, R.M. of Piney, MB.</p> <p>In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to&nbsp;Canadian Cancer Society (In cheque memo line: Manitoba Division), 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB., R3C 2B7.</p>
