Obituary of Paul Lajoie

<p>Paul Lajoie, born November 8, 1936, passed away at Ste-Anne Hospital following a lengthy illness on Sunday, October 6, 2019 at 82 years of age.</p> <p>He is survived by his beloved wife, Monique (Palud), his daughters, Paulette (Roger), Loulou (Keith), Jo-Anne (Dirk) and son Denis (Louise), grandchildren, Alana, Lonny, Renee, Miguel, Mia, Blaine, Quinn, Kayla, Joel, Yannick, great-grandchildren Zara, Theodore, Neve. He is also survived by his sisters, Irene, Isabelle, Therese, Cecile, Diane, Lorraine, Denise and Jeannine, his two brothers Raymond and Ernest and many nieces and nephews.</p> <p>He is predeceased by his parents Adrien and Madeleine, step-mother Lauraine, and brothers Michel, Louis, Arthur and Leo.</p> <p>Paul grew up on the family farm near Ste-Anne. Before marrying Monique on October 24<sup>th</sup>, 1959, he worked in the logging industry Northwestern Ontario. After marriage, he divided his time between working construction in Winnipeg and logging until 1968, when Paul and Monique bought the family farm. He farmed until 1973 and then returned to work as a contractor, moving the family of 4 children to the Town of Ste-Anne. He also spent 10 years working at the Villa Youville in the Maintenance Department. Following his retirement from the Villa he returned to construction, working with his son Denis.</p> <p>Paul enjoyed classic country music, time at the cottage, and his gardens. He loved to watch his Blue Jays, enjoyed going on cruises with Monique, and loved large family gatherings and celebrations.</p> <p>Funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2019, with eulogy at 1:15 p.m. and service at 1:30 p.m., at Ste-Anne Roman Catholic Parish Church, Ste-Anne, Manitoba, with interment to follow at Ste-Anne Cemetery.</p> <p>If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers donations in memory of Paul may be made to Southern Health-Sant&eacute; Sud (Memo line: Ste. Anne Hospital) Box 470, La Broquerie, MB R0A 0W0.</p> <p>Special thanks to the team at Cancer Care, HSC and Bethesda Regional Health Centre for the wonderful care given to Dad. Extra special thanks to the team at the Palliative Care unit in Ste-Anne Hospital.</p>
