Aganetha Penner of Steinbach passed away peacefully Thursday, November 29, 2001 at Bethesda Hospital, Steinbach, with family at her side at the age of 82 years. She will be lovingly remembered by her children Gerhard (Susana), Abram (Helen), Johan (Kathy), Aganetha (Jake) Fehr, Susanna (Cornelius) Loeppky, Anne (Henry) Berg, and Frank; 45 grandchildren, 57 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren; two brothers, one sister and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Johann Penner in 1987, two sons, three grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. Aganetha was born April 9, 1919 in Plum Coulee, MB. She was raised in Mexico where she also raised her family. In 1939 she was baptized by Bishop Isaac M. Dyck and on December 17 of the same year she married Johann Penner in Mexico. In 1965 she and her husband returned to Canada, living in Ontario until 1986, when she moved to Steinbach. The Funeral Service for Aganetha Penner was held Saturday, December 1, 2001, 2:00 p.m. at the New Bothwell Sommerfeld Church. Interment at the churchyard cemetery.
