Passed away at the Hotel Dieu Hospital, St. Catharines, Ontario on Thursday, April 18, 2002. John is survived by his three children Jack of Collingwood, Ontario, Karen (Jim) Bryson, Shelley (Jamie) Smith both of St. Catharines, and their mother Connie. He will be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Mike, Jill, Heather, Craig, and Jacob, and by his great grandchildren Josh and Jordin. He is also survived by his sisters Betty of St. Catharines, Agnes of Vancouver, Doreen of Winnipeg, brothers Andy of Winnipeg, Mary of Steinbach, Dan of Steinbach and Harry of Pine Falls, MB. According to John’s wishes, a private family funeral service was held at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB on Saturday, April 20, 2002. Interment to follow at Heritage Cemetery. Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Lung Association would be appreciated by the family.
