Obituary of Wilber Blixt

Peacefully surrounded by his loving family, Wilber passed away on December 30, 2006 at Bethesda Hospital. Wilber, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle passed away at the age of 86. Dad is gone to be with his Lord and Savior. Wilber will be deeply missed by his devoted wife Helen, daughter Shirley (Garry) and granddaughter Kayla. He will be missed by his brothers (Ray, Sam, John), sister (Alice) and their family and many friends. He was predeceased by his father (Gust), mother (Laura), brothers (Hilder, Roy, Manny) sisters (Florence, Ella, Naomi) and his grandson (Brett). Dad was born July 14, 1920 on a farm near Sprague, MB and was the second oldest of 11 children. Dad spent most of his employed years working in the bush for Joe Erickson, Columbia Forest Product and E. Holmgren and Son. Dad had a passion for reading his Christian books, fishing with Ron and playing with his granddaughter, Kayla. Dad could often be seen washing his car and manicuring his yard. Dad could often be heard praising the Lord whether at home, in the church and even in his last days at the hospital. A celebration of Wilber's life will be held at the Cleansing Wave Church in Sprague on January 3, 2007 at 1 p.m. with Pastor Herman Funk officiating. Interment at the Church Cemetery Wilber's family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the nurses on the main floor at the Bethesda Hospital in Steinbach for their wonderful care and compassion.
