It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother Maria, age 96, on May 21, 2002 at the Grunthal Menno Home. Her loving children Abe (Susie), Eva (Ed), Margaret (John), Tina, Mary, Martha (Peter), Lisa (Willy) Henry (Mary), all from Paraguay as well as Peter (Margaret) of Steinbach and Nettie (Jake) of Niverville will forever remember her. Also left to cherish her memory are her beloved 69 grandchildren, 205 great grandchildren, and 7 great great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her first husband Abraham Schroeder in 1980 and her second husband Peter D. Wiebe in 1990, parents Cornelius and Katherina Sawatsky, one daughter and two sons in infancy, daughter Helen in 1998, three grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, four brothers and seven sisters. The funeral service for Maria Wiebe will be held Monday, May 27, 2:00 p.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, 150 Penfeld Dr., Steinbach, MB. Interment at the New Bothwell Sommerfeld Cemetery. Our family wishes to thank all the nurses at the Grunthal Menno Home for taking such good care of our mother for the last eight years.
