It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, Leonard Petryk on Wednesday, December 4th, 2019 with his family by his side, at the age of 78, after courageous battle with cancer and a heart condition.

He is survived by his son Dwayne (Luba), granddaughter Natasha (Michael Gawronsky), grandson Michael, brother Walter (Natalie), brother Eugene (Ardene), sister-in-law Joan (Taras), cousins, nephews and nieces.

Leonard was predeceased by his loving wife of 39 years, Sally (Bezditny), brothers Roman, Taras, Joseph, mother Emilia and father Michael.

Leonard was born on November 5th, 1941 in Sarto, Manitoba where he was raised at the family homestead with 5 brothers. After marrying love of his life Sally, they moved to the city for work, and shortly after moved back to the country where his love for horses and farming became his passion. He was a very cheerful individual that never complained about anything, loved visiting with friends and family and most definitely dancing. Leonard helped many family members and friends with whatever he could and was a passionate Ukrainian above all. He was a devoted Christian and served as a President at St. Michaels Ukrainian Catholic Church for over 40 years. Dad had a heart of gold and was known for his quick wit, his infectious laughter and his kind and compassionate spirit. He has touched the lives of many and will be eternally remembered by all.
