As one of the youngest of the Hiebert family, Helen left us a strong example of faith, love, strength and courage to follow. Unity just a few years ago, when frailty began to diminish her abilities of volunteer service and the creation of many blankets for the homeless in our city, she continued to be a mighty warrior in prayer! Hers was a life well lived!

Although I never met Helena Hiebert I know I would have loved her as my sister, Wendy Hiebert (wife of Tony) spoke of her often to me and of her deep love and appreciation for this dear woman. She will be missed. I am confident Helena has already been greeted in heaven by those who have gone on before her and she will be excited to some day be a part of the welcoming team for those who will follow her there when it is their time. In the meantime, she is now a part of the great heavenly host cheering us on. On January 8, 2020 perhaps Helena met Wendy's (and my) mother Rose Ryckman who is already there and happened to be born on January 8, 1935. I am sure the two of them would hit it off well! Blessings to both mums - Helena and Rose, and their families and friends who will miss them but are glad they are right where they would want to be with Jesus. Submitted by Rev. Maxine McLellan

I got to know both Helen and Peter as volunteers at the Victoria hospital and then Helen continued after Peter passed on coming with Betty Block. She was a dedicated pleasant lady, I admired her and was impressed with all the quilting she did for her family. Cherish you many memories, I will. God bless you all.
