Obituary of Katie Barkman

Katie (Tina) Barkman, aged 99, of Steinbach, MB passed away peacefully at Bethesda Regional Health Centre, Steinbach, MB. She was surrounded by family as she took her final steps to her new Heavenly home.

Mom is survived by her 11 children: Evelyn Barkman, Len Barkman (Faye), Sharon Brown (Murray), Ed Barkman (Dorothy), Ken Barkman (Bibi), Joan Barkman (Bechara Azar), Judy Nault (Jason), Dave Barkman (Sharon), Dennis Barkman (Madeleine), Tamera Wilson, Terry Barkman (Tracy) and their families which include grandchildren Lionel, Thor (Michelle), Doug (Christal), Derek (Amanda),  Jessica (Kevin), Nalia (Uwe), Vaughn (Trish), Matthew, Mike (Lana), Kevin (Nancy), Jay, Nadia(Ron), Sadia (Chris), Renee, Timothy, Jennifer (Jared), Kristin (Griffith), Katrina, Chris, Danielle, Melanie (Chris), Bethany (Jordan), Emily (Kevin), Evan, Nikolas, Shasta  and Julian, and 28 great-grand children.

Mom was predeceased by her parents Frank and Maria Kroeker, her sisters: Linda, Betty, Margaret, Helen, Olga; brother Walter and granddaughter Andrea.

We will miss our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. But, at the same time we are glad that she was able to finish her journey here on earth without a lot of suffering and pain, and that she is now in a place of infinitely more joy. 

The funeral service will be held on Sunday, February 9, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. at Prairie Rose EMC, Landmark, MB., with interment to follow at the church cemetery.
