Obituary of Peter Myron Buhler

Peter Myron Buhler, age 53 of  Mitchell, MB took his Saviour’s hand and climbed the staircase to Heaven on February 10 at 1:45 pm after a very courageous 21 month fight with lung cancer.

He is survived by his wife and best friend Jackie of 29 years, his pride and joy: sons Jurgen and Aidan.

Peter is also survived by sister Vicky (Kevin) Alex, Maccoy, Jackson; parents in law; Jac and Tina Funk  & Brian and Debbie Arnal; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law; Cheryl (David) Wiebe, Amberly, Meagan, Christopher, Abigail, Kim (Nick) Anderson, Bret (Athalie) Arnal, Annabelle, Benjamin. Lindsay (Jason) Wishnowski, Maddie, Nicholas.

Peter was predeceased by his parents William and Margaret Buhler.

Some of Peter’s interests included sports, a good steak, hot wings, long drives and a Starbucks coffee. In his younger days he enjoyed

running, skiing, soccer and hockey but more recently had a passion for cycling. But his greatest ‘joy’

in life was his family!

Peter’s deep Faith in God never waivered and only strengthened during his illness. 

"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." 2 Timothy 4:7

A Come & Go viewing will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2020 from 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB. 

The memorial service will be held on Sunday, February 23, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB, with a private family burial prior to the service. 

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Peter may be made to the Manitoba Lung Association, 629 McDermot Ave, Winnipeg, MB, R3A 1P6.
