Obituary of Pauline Margaret Broesky
It is with sadness we announce the passing of Pauline Broesky on Tuesday, March 31, 2020, at the age of 75 years. She passed away at the Bethesda Regional Health Centre, Steinbach, MB, with her husband Cornie by her side.
Pauline is survived by her husband of 56 years, Cornie, one daughter Darlene (Allen Penner), seven siblings - Vera, Bob (Joyce), Lydia (George Funk), Evelyn (Julius Schellenberg), Peter (Tracey), Andy (Julie) and Lorna (Pete Doerksen) and their families. She was predeceased by her infant son (Cornie) and her parents (John S. and Margaret Friesen).
Pauline was born on September 27, 1944 in the small town of Herbert, Saskatchewan. She was the oldest of eight children. Pauline was baptized in November of 1963 at the First English Lutheran Church in Winnipeg MB. On July 18, 1964, she married Cornie at the same church.
After Pauline and Cornie were married, they lived in Winnipeg on Ste. Anne’s Rd. Their daughter Darlene was born on July 28, 1967. A few years later, they decided to move back to the country and farming life which they loved.
Pauline loved the outdoors, flowers, animals and her family. She loved to have friends and family over for a visit, to share meals and play games. Darlene and Allen would often come over to visit, bringing their dogs who she called her grandpups.
Unfortunately, over the last few years, Pauline had to battle a number of health issues including Alzheimer’s and diabetes. We will hold onto the treasured memories we have of Pauline and know she is now at home in Heaven. She will be lovingly remembered and forever missed.
Pauline will be laid to rest at the Grunthal Cemetery, where the family will be having a private graveside service. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
If friends so desire, donations may be made in her memory to the Alzheimer’s Society of Manitoba or Diabetes Canada.
