Obituary of Bill Boyechko

William (Wasyl) Harry Boyechko, age 99 of Steinbach, MB, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 8, 2020 with his family surrounding him at Rest Haven Nursing Home, Steinbach, MB.

He is survived by his beloved daughter Elaine Boyde, daughter-in-law Ruth Boyechko, five grandchildren: Jason Boyechko, Paula (Richard) Vega, June (Mike) Holloway, Crystal (Brent) Derksen, and Sheryl (Corey) Hoshowski; four great-grandchildren: Carter, Cody, Enzo, and Jesse; and one brother-in-law Jim Hrabchak.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife, one son, three sisters, two brothers, two sisters-in-law and three brothers-in-law.

William was born to Harry and Frances Boyechko (Kis) of Sarto, MB on August 8, 1920. William trained in the military in the1940s for the World War. During the war he moved back to Manitoba and married the love of his life Mary Hrabchak on August 15, 1944.

He enjoyed farming, working the land, gardening, however, Ukrainian music, playing cymbala, violin and dancing was his passion.

He faithfully participated and volunteered at Sarto Hall, and attended Sarto Orthodox Church for many years.

If you had a chance to meet him you would know that he was a thoughtful and grateful man. He would always let you know how much he appreciated you. Above all, he loved and honoured his family.

A private graveside service will be held due to the COVID19 Pandemic.
