Obituary of Gerhard Reimer-Wiebe

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gerhard (George) Reimer-Wiebe on Saturday, June 20, 2020.

He is survived by his wife Annie, one son Gevanni, one daughter Jessica, his mother Nancy, and foster parents Martin & Anna Reimer.

Gerhard was born on April 13, 1993, in Santa Cruz, Bolivia. His foster parents raised him since the age of 4. He was baptised upon his confession of faith in Jesus Christ on November 24, 2011.

He married Annie Bergen Hamm on February 9, 2014. They moved to Canada in December 2015.

Gerhard served in the Church with the talents that the Lord had given him with playing his guitar and singing helping to lead the praise and worship in church.

Gerhard had challenges in his life with addiction, he decided to go to Adult and Teen Challenge in December of 2018 and spent one year there, through godly counseling that he received and growing in the Lord, Gerhard was able to come home to his family on December 21, 2019. With the help of Adult & Teen Challenge and caring friends Gerhard got a job at a dairy farm that he really enjoyed where he had a Christian boss and Christian co-workers.

After some months he fell back into drug addiction and went back to Adult & Teen Challenge for a short time and decided to walk out of the program.

We don’t know what Gerhard went through in the last few months of his life.

Gerhard knew Jesus as his Lord and Savior; therefore, we continue to Trust in The Lord Jesus Christ for His Saving Grace.

The private funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 29, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB. 

If friends so desire, donations in memory of Gerhard may be made to Birchwood Funeral Chapel to assist the family with funeral costs.
