This saddened our hearts greatly to hear- we remember leading youth at Elim and the quiet kind boy you were then. It was always a great evening when you were present. You had such a warm smile.
To all the family- our thoughts and prayers will be with you as you mourn your loved one.

I was shocked to hear the passing of Ian today. I am saddened to hear this news. I attended school with Ian up to grade 9, and also played hockey with him growing up. We spent many lunch hours at his house with multiple friends. As life goes, we hadn't seen much of each other since school. I caught a glimpse of him walking by when I was at the insurance broker in Grunthal about two weeks ago. As I was tied up when i saw him walk by (hadn't seen him in forever), i couldn't go say hi, however, I dawned on the times we had together and it made me smile. Rest Peacefully. My condolences go out to his family and friends.

Ian, i was truly lucky to have had you in my life right from the beginning.
We were born a month apart and so you were essentially my brother growing up.
From a very young age we ruled the roost at your parents restaurant, riding around on our toy firetrucks, sometimes clothed, but usually not.
We got to go on family vacations together, played sports together, and sneak into Ryan's room when he wasn't home and play his video games, admire the heavy metal posters he had up on the walls, and generally just snoop around where we were not supposed to be.
Playing baseball with you is one of the best memories I have from our childhood.
You were always our Ace on the mound, and always called upon when we needed a win. You had lights out stuff and our team always felt the most confident with you at the helm.
When you got your license we spent a ridiculous amount of time doing laps around town playing music way too loud in your Civic.
We both attended and initiated far too many great parties to count.
When I went to Southeast Asia, you were the one to drop me off at the airport and pick me up when I returned. Because you were my best friend, and the person I could always rely upon.
When you lived at my house, you shared a special bond with my dog. You loved getting her all worked up and excited, and I'm still pretty sure that you were the one to encourage her to tear up my blanket and chew holes in my couch.
The last time you came over to watch a hockey game, she was so excited to see you. She hadn't seen you in a long time, but still remembered your scent and all the love you used to give her. She sat by your side the entire game, just like old times.
Even though we didn't see each other much these past few years, I still consider you to be one of my closest friends. It was exciting for me to get to catch up with you on the rare occasion you'd pop in at the store, and I'll miss getting an Ian update everytime Tatiana was in.
Ian, I miss you. I am so lucky to have experienced so much of my life together with you, and to have made so many great memories to remember you by. But most of all, I am proud to have called you my friend.
