We were so blessed to have known Ashleigh when she came to Ireland for a year with Jordan to serve in our church here. Although she was one person I would have loved to have known better I found her to be a sweet, gentle, loving and Christlike woman. After she returned home and became a mother it became much more obvious that she had a huge heart for her children and everyone who knew her. We have been battling with Jordan, her family and friends during her time of illness and we are heartbroken that we have lost her at such a young age. Our thoughts and prayers are with Jordan, the children and her extended family through these days of sorrow. We are all richer for having known this dear woman, even if it was for much too short a time. Love, prayers and blessings to you all.

I remember receiving a delicious Christmas bread from Jordan and Ashleigh quite a few years ago when they first lived in Steinbach. Even the Christmas when they were busy with their first newborn, they still baked the bread to give to others. Jordan and Ashleigh had a deep love and a giving spirit for all their family and friends. Jordan, you and your precious children are in our prayers as you grieve and journey on without your beloved wife and mom. May God's Peace (and Hope) that surpasses all understanding give you much needed strength for each day.

I was privileged to know Ashleigh and Jordan through my teaching at Columbia Bible College. I loved them both - their curiosity and openness to learn. I was thrilled to be invited to their wedding along with my husband Ernie. We remember the day vividly. We lent them our little Miata to take for a spin that day. They arrived at the wedding venue all aglow. We then participated in their wedding in the beautiful Heritage Park in Mission, BC. We were next to the make-shift aisle in the picnic shelter. Just after Ashleigh walked up the aisle with her dad, a beautiful cat, a local park creature, walked straight up the aisle behind them, tail high in the air. The cat walked past Jordan standing in the front, and Jordan reached down in perfect timing and ran his hand along the cat's back and up the tail. The cat kept right on walking out the other end of the building. We were struck by this - how both Jordan and Ashleigh loved animals, and how deeply Ashleigh loved nature. We thought, what a beautiful expression of God's presence that day and in those moments.
We have watched with joy as Jordan and Ashleigh welcomed each child into their expanding family. And we've watched with sadness the devastating news of cancer robbing Ashleigh of her life with this family. We pray, that in some mysterious way, you as her family, will experience God's presence, even as we did that day at the wedding. Sincerely, Janet E Boldt and Ernie Doerksen, Abbotsford, BC.

Ashley (and Jordan) were my favourite customers when I worked at Old Church Bakery, where they loved to come with their kids and get chocolate croissants every Saturday. They were the first customers to ever ask my name or have some kind of relationship with me, which was so nice as I started my first job, and I always looked forward to making them coffee and seeing their kids. Ashley was just amazing, she will be missed by everyone that had the pleasure of meeting her kind spirit. Thinking of Jordan and all of the precious kids.

We are saddened to learn of Ashleigh's passing. Our family has fond memories of Ashleigh. We were fortunate to have her come to our home many times for child minding. She was such a kind, caring teenager ... always pleasant and friendly. The time she spent with our son was his gain and our comfort knowing he was in such good hands. Ashleigh was a bright light in Gold River and we were blessed to have known her. Our Deepest Sympathy to husband Jordan and her children as well to the Hoffman and Dueck families for their loss. May your memories of Ashleigh offer you light in the darker days ahead.

We were honored to be at their wedding, and enjoyed the times we could have them over to our house when they lived in Abbotsford, BC. We were praying for you regularly as Ashleigh was fighting the cancer, and will continue to pray for you as a family now that she is with Jesus.

We saw Ashleigh often at the townhouse on Makenzie Ave in Victoria. I remember her laugh. She loved to laugh and brought so much joy with her. I remember a conversation with her about favourite places we had been. Ashleigh told me that she loved Cannon Beach in Oregon where she had been with her family for conferences and said that I had to go some day. It was 5 years before I made it to Cannon Beach, but it has become our favourite place to visit as a family, often multiple times a year. A beautiful place to remember a beautiful soul.
