Obituary of Wolfgang Burchardt

Wolfgang passed away suddenly on Thursday, January 28, 2021.

He was born in Danzig where he later in his young years went to Bochum Germany.

He was working in construction and pipe lining. This is where he met Gisela Andree. On December 22, 1959 he married Gisela and had one child in 1961.

Then in 1963 they had the passion to go move to a country where there was more space and decided to journey to Canada, where they chose Grunthal, Manitoba to settle and live there on a farm for 37 years.

They loved farming and living off the land, animals, and crops. They then had two more children.

After 37 years on the farm with all the children gone and married, they planned for retirement in Steinbach where they lived another 27 years, which they both enjoyed very much.

Dad loved doing odd jobs for his family, enjoyed his grandchildren and going places travelling to Saskatoon, Germany, the Gulf of Mexico, these were very good times.

Dad will always be lovingly remembered by his family and friends, his daughters Annelene (Don), Barb (Phil), his grandchildren: Eric (Cassie), Mike (Lindsay), Jessie and Samantha.

Dad you will always be in our hearts and missed.

He was predeceased by his son Norm and wife Gisela.

The family also wants to thank Kim and Dennis Friesen, his neighbours whom he loved and appreciated so much.

A memorial service will be planned at a later date.
