Obituary of Barbara Leppky

Barbara (Barb) Leppky (Braun), 74 years of age, died tragically on April 28, 2021.

Mom was born on April 30, 1946. She is survived by her children, Pat (Ron), Trevor (Annalie), and Jeff (Laurie).  Her Grandchildren, Ryan (Kat), Justin, Genessa (Andy), Chandra (Ryan), Nick, Cole, Anna and William. Her great grandchildren, Jack, Hudson, Ellie and Kailor.  Her sisters-in-law Debra (Clay) and Roberta (Ray), brother-in-law Murray (Grace), as well as several nieces and nephews.

Mom was predeceased by our dad on July 7, 2020, mother Anne Clark, brother Jon Clark, in-laws Peter and Susan Leppky, brother-in-law Ken Leppky, and nieces Leslie Leppky and Jennifer Pearson.

Mom and dad were married on November 8, 1968 and raised us on the Leppky family homestead near Tourond, MB.  In 1996 our parents made the move to a farm near Togo, Sask and began their dream of raising bison. Mom was a very passionate gardener.  Her yard and garden were always beautiful and would respond to the many compliments about her efforts with: “it’s not that much work”.  It was something she truly loved to do. 

Our mom also had a great passion for knowledge. From simple gardening to not so main stream subjects.  She was well known for taking her knowledge and using it in her everyday life as well as sharing it with others.

We, the family would like to thank the RCMP Recovery Dive Team and Constable Kelly Clark for their efforts and support.

A huge Thank-you to our parents’ friends and neighbors in Togo.  You have all been a great support to our mom after our dad passed away and also after mom’s surgery.  Thank-you all.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions there will be a Celebration of Life in the deli section of Superstore.  Those that know our mom will know that she would have found great humor in this little joke.

In all seriousness, a private family viewing will occur at Birchwood Funeral Chapel and a Celebration of Life will be held in the Togo area as well as the Niverville area at a later date.
