It is with such sadness that we learn of Hilda’s passing. She was a one-of-a-kind lady. We spent 15 years in Landmark and Bob and Hilda lived across and down the street from us most of those years. The first year we lived there Hilda arranged a Christmas block party because she had four new neighbours that had moved in that year and wanted to get to know them. That was the start of the annual Christmas block party at their house which continued for quite a few years. Ron and I also curled with Hilda and Bob in Loretta, although Hilda expressed to me that it wasn’t one of her favourite pastimes. She did it more for the socializing.
She introduced me to Barb and it became an annual Christmas outing for my daughter and I to go to Barb’s Annual Country Christmas. There would be Hilda sitting helping Barb and visiting with everyone. There was many a time that I would be coming home from working in the city and I would see Hilda walking along the road.
Unfortunately, when we moved to the city, we lost touch. The last time we spoke was at Bob’s funeral and she was, as usual, gracious. I would think of her often and think of picking up the phone to see how she was doing. I wish I had followed through.
Hilda, you were a wonderful lady and friend. You are going to be missed by all those lives you touched. Rest In Peace and say hi to Bob.

Uncle Bob and auntie hilda were by far my favorite and I looked to team as second parents. They loved me since I joined the koop family at the age of 8. When uncle Bob passed it broke my heart, I didn't take it too well. Now when I found out that my aunt was sick, I was devastated. When.i.heard of of her passing, it broke my heart, I will.forever miss her soups.she made for me to.take home, our football games we watched at my moms , especially her support and encouragement when I struggled with my addictions and entered charis center for two years, she was one of my biggest cheerleaders, and often came and took me out for lunch. Until to.this day she has still encouraged me with my sobriety, her laugh was so contagious and gave me peace and comfort. I will always miss you auntie hilda, and I love you so much. Say hi to my dad, and uncle Bob. Until we meet , love always April.

My sincere condolences go to the Hilda’s family and close friends. Al and I spend at least 7 wonderful years in Landmark and Bob and Hilda were so gracious in their interest in us. My most vivid memories are of exercising at Curves and observing the Reimer sisters chattering in unison as they made their rounds. I envied the loving bond they shared and it seemed they were oblivious to the rest, just focusing on each other and keeping all up to date on everything. Thank you Hilda for your friendship and and model of faith, energy and persistence as things got tough.

Oh Hilda! You were one of the good ones. I regret that I never got to know you as well as I would have liked, I knew Barb better. But the contacts we did have were always inspiring. You were steady and faithful, but not afraid to speak your mind. Praying that your family is at peace, knowing your suffering is over, and that they will be comforted in knowing how well they surrounded you in these last difficult months of life.

I feel honored to have known and loved Hilda as a caring friend. I met her as a volunteer at the Steinbach MCC Thrift Shop and always enjoyed conversations with her. I felt Hilda was my special friend, though I believe everyone felt that way about her. I was so disappointed last summer as her health declined that she was no longer able to come and volunteer, personally my life lost a little bit of sunshine.
I write as a friend, but also a supervisor, as I am the volunteer coordinator at the Steinbach MCC Thrift Shop. Hilda will be missed - she was such a special supporter. Our thoughts and prayers to her family on the passing of this very special lady.

Such a sweet lady. I met her volunteering at MCC a few years ago and enjoyed her special gift of song. I will always have her in my heart. Condolences to all her family.
