Obituary of Marcel Jules Joseph St. Laurent

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Marcel J. St. Laurent on Monday morning, September 20, 2021 at his residence, at the age of 73, beloved husband of Eva (nee Trudeau) of Ste. Anne.

He was predeceased by his Father, Eric St. Laurent (1958), his Dad, Alphonse Duhamel (1988), his Mother, Thérèse Duhamel (nee St. Jean) (1989), his brother Rene (2014) and his brother Denis (2011).

Besides his beloved wife Eva, he leaves to cherish his memory his two sons Ron (Sheri) and his granddaughters Meagan, Madison and Myah, son Claude (Nikki) and his granddaughters Cordelia, Kayla, Carlee (Jory), Haillie (Julien) and his two great grandchildren Brooklyn and Beckam and his two brothers Michel (Flo) and Andre (B.C) .

Dad loved life… especially the outdoors. His hours spent hunting, fishing and camping were always a true pleasure for him. Marcel was the absolute “Mr. Fix It”. He loved tinkering in the garage on numerous projects. Whether it was building something new, modifying something or simply making improvements- there wasn’t anything he couldn’t fix. He was a true perfectionist to say the least and a real “Jack of all Trades!” All of these skills were self taught and brought him great pride.

Marcel was an absolute Jets and Bombers fan. He loved all sports but hockey and football held a special place in his heart. He was so excited to go see the games in person and talked about it often. Many games were watched in the living room with Mom by his side cheering on the Jets or Bombers.

Anyone who knew Marcel can for sure say he had many quick, witty comments and a sarcastic sense of humor that he passed on to his sons. The highlight of Marcel’s life was spending time with Mom, his kids, grandkids, family and friends. He will be forever missed and the lessons he passed on will be forever cherished.

Funeral mass will be held at a later date at the Ste. Anne Parish Church with ash internment to follow at the Ste. Anne Parish cemetery.  If friends so desire, donations in memory of Marcel may be made to Cancer Care.

Special thanks to Dr. Krahn, Dr. Reimer, palliative care nurse Jacqueline, and the many more homecare nurses and the Ste. Anne Pharmacy, Guyléne McLean, who were always there and went beyond in their services in our time of need. Thank You.
