Sending my condolences to the family. My family lived next to him for years on Hwy 59. I used to help him with lawn work and talk between the properties with him often. He was a wonderful man who made my day by saying hello when I would get off the school bus and was kind hearted enough to offer rides when I missed the bus.
Sorry to hear about the loss of John,
From the Lariviere family who previously lived at 2012 Highway 59 until 2019.

Thank you for sharing your Dad’s service on Friday. Loved all the speeches and prayers. Especially the stories about the family farm. It’s so sad that we don’t have the family gatherings like we used to. One of the last times I saw your dad was when he came to see my mom and he thanked me for taking such good care of his sister. I never forgot that. How wonderful for your mom and dad to be blessed with so many grandchildren. Very precious memories for everyone. Take care, your cousin Molly

I have many wonderful memories of John...& Agatha. I'm thankful for our paths crossing & having the opportunity to meet them, as well as their family. I'm also thankful for the wonderful care given to him in the days leading up to his passing. If anyone deserved to be treated well, it was your parents...loving, kind, caring & hardworking...good people. Our Deepest Sympathies to the Kehler family...Hugs

I am so sorry to hear of your Dad's passing. I remember how he used to go for walks every day past Mom and Dad's and how he would stop, if Dad happened to be outside, just to have a visit. After Mom passed away, he kept up the practice and there were a few times on a Sunday when I happened to be out in the garage with Dad and Uncle John would come by and we would all just talk for a while. He was always good to talk to. He always had a smile and something positive to say. He was always interesting to talk to. One day, after Uncle John was living in Niverville, I had taken Dad to the credit union to do some banking and Uncle John happened to be there at the the same time. He and Dad immediately fell into a conversation in low German and I thought how great for both of them to just converse in their familiar language. Thank you so much for the service you livestreamed today. It would have been nice to see you all in person. But you are all in my thoughts and prayers through this time of loss. Bev

My deepest sympathies to all of you. Your Dad was one of the kindest, most generous people I know. It was a pleasure to chat with him and boy did he know how to tease!! I remember how he would wait until I wasn’t looking and then he would put his finger inTo my coffee and clear his throat to make me look before he took it out! Then he would chuckle and ask me innocently “what’s wrong? Is there something wrong?” In Plautdietsch of course! I know he is with our Saviour and all pain and sickness is gone. I wish you all the best and may your memories and the love of Jesus sustain you as you adjust to your Dad’s passing. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Randy & I always loved spending time with Uncle John. Phone calls & visits with him were always special to us. So many fond memories of him & Aunt Agatha including their 2 week visit with us in Fernie BC where we took this photo of them. Always in our heart ♡

Our condolences to your family. As it was eluded to your dads teasing I can truly say that was a given when you would see Mr Kehler there was always a tease and a smirk. Have a number of memories watching hockey with your family.
Praying for comfort during this difficult time!

Thinking of the Kehler family at this time. “And he said, 'O man greatly loved, fear not, peace be with you; be strong and of good courage.” And as he spoke to me, I was strengthened and said, 'Let my Lord speak, for you have strengthened me.'” ~ Daniel 10:19

Uncle John will be alive in my fondest memories.
Catching me when I was a child and rubbing his rough whiskers on my then soft skin.
Ticking me until I could hardly breath. Though I never spent much time with him after
our family moved to the USA I surely will have many fond memories to cherish.
Wishing his family all my love.
