Melinda was my oldest cousin. Although I had not seen her for many years now, I do have many fond memories of her. She lived in Winnipeg all her adult life, but her visits out to the country were very special to her. I remember her saying how she loved to come out to Kleefeld in the autumn and just walk along Honey Lane and enjoy the trees with their fall foliage. I remember her when I was quite young, visiting at her parents' farm house. She would invite me upstairs and allow me to look at some of her things and occasionally let me take home a little treasure. I remember when I was ten years old and at Red Rock Bible Camp for the first time. My parents were not able to come out on Sunday (visitors' day) but she made the trip out to the Whiteshell with my aunt and uncle and I showed her around the camp. When my mom was grieving the loss of her eight year old daughter, Melinda showed much love and compassion. She was a gentle spirit. Rest in Peace, Melinda!
