Dear children Rita and Lawrence.
Your mother was an amazing person and you are all so blessed to have had her as your mom.
I was blessed to have known her and to spend precious times talking about the saviour whom she knew so well during the time that I was building there home. She was a beautiful person inwardly and outwardly.
My prayers are with you her children for comfort and healing and I pray that you will all know the Jesus she loved.

Deepest sympathies to the family. Rita will leave a big hole in your hearts.
Almost 40 years ago I too met Rita through softball. We were The Goodtimers. And good times we had - on and off the field! I remember one end-of-season pool party at Rita's place when Randy Reimer was our coach. Many fun and happy memories.
Rita's outward beauty was eclipsed only by her inner beauty. Many have already spoken of her incredibly big heart - filled with love and generosity. She was blessed with many good friends because she willingly gave so much of herself. Over the past 21 years since I moved to Montreal, Rita and I kept in regular touch - and especially sweet was getting together with several of The Good Timers when I visited MB. During the long, isolating Covid months, Rita derived pleasure from her beloved dogs, cats, birds and even backyard bears! I remember lovely flowers in her yard which was no doubt a lot of work. She enjoyed beauty in so many things.
And now Rita, you are truly home in Paradise - pain-free, happy and probably youthful again! I can see your lovely smile and rejoice with you - even though I miss you a lot.
Until we meet again.

To Rita's treasured ones, our sincere condolences on hearing of Rita's passing.
Wishing you all fond memories of her whenever you hear her name.
She certainly gave her all to her family, her friends, her Church needs, as well
as her volunteering either at MCC or for our local food bank, "Accueil Katéri Centre."
and much more I'm sure.
Respectfully, F. & G. Lemoine

To Rita’s family,
My sincere condolences to all of you. God created many beautiful things on this earth but my favorite is the (rose) and RITA was the most beautiful of all! Rita loved lived life with such gusto she was absolutely amazing. some of you in the family may have known of me (Grace Franz) the friend she meet in the concordia hospital while she was having her first knee surgery. We became fast and furious good friends. Even with all the things Rita was busy doing she never said no I can’t. She was there for everyone in one way or another.
I got to spend a weekend at her house with her and Lawrence and Rita and I went to the thrift shop and next morning to church where I got to witness her devotion to God.
In return she came to my house in Winnipeg many times and got to know my 4 grandchildren a nd loved them dearly.. Rita had such a large hearted capacity to love!!
I will really miss my dear friend but i’m glad she is resting in peace. Even though we never met in person I got to know so many of you Rita’s family from our many conversations and I know you have all lost to life someone you all loved dearly. May God grant you all peace and serenity and beautiful memories of Rita as you go on in life without her! Just
remember as the song says( beneath the winter snow comes the sun”s love becomes the Rose!
Rita it was life’s greatest joy for me to know you!
May God bless you all that grieve family.friend and aqatuatiance. Rita sing with the Angels!

Our prayers and condolences to the Lacoste family. Rita will be greatly missed at the Steinbach MCC Thrift Store. Rita volunteered as a cashier at the Thrift Shop and always provided a special care for those who would bring their purchases through the checkout till that she was working at. Many customers would make a special point of making sure they purchased their items at the till where Rita was working at so that they could feel extra welcomed at the store. This would often result in a hug from Rita provided to them while they made their purchases. Rita was always quick to spot someone in need and had the intuition to make sure that they would be cared for in whatever their need would be. We pray that God provide the Lacoste family with an enduring peace during this difficult time. - Jason Hiebert - On behalf of Steinbach MCC Community Assistance Centre

Rita's care for people shone. I was in the checkout line at the MCC thrift shop a few years ago when I witnessed something that still warms my heart. Rita noticed a preteen in the line and, excusing herself to the customers waiting to make their purchases, she walked to the family group and gave the young lad a hug. He beamed, and she returned to her post. The boy was not the only one in that lineup that received a gift. Rita had that knack of discerning "special needs" in others, regardless what the level, and poured out love and respect. My condolences to her family.
