Praise Him with tambourine and dancing; Praise Him with stringed instruments and pipe. Psalms 150:4

We rejoice with mom as she is dancing with her tambourine before the Lord.

After a long battle with heart disease and Alzheimer’s, on February 12,2022 with her daughters by her side, mom passed away peacefully, at Bethesda Place in Steinbach.

Mom was survived by her husband of 57 years, Abe Kornelsen. Her son Gerry & Helen Kornelsen  Her daughter Agnes & Erin Bueckert and grandson Jared. Her daughter Marlys & Steve Jurko; granddaughter Michelle & Orlando Friesen with great-grandchildren Mia & Nico: and grandson Brady.   Her son Rudy Kornelsen & Alissa Wiens; with granddaughters Samantha & Scott Cyr. Chelsea and great-grandsons Hudson & Ledger. Granddaughters Summer Kornelsen and Alanna Kornelsen & great-grandson Cristopher.

Special mentions to Jaxon, Scott Wiens, Emily Wiens & Sophia.

Mom was predeceased by three children: Andrew, Agatha and John. Her parents Jacob and Maria Penner. Her brother Jacob and his wife Katherine Penner, brother-in-law John Friesen and many more family and friends. I’m sure there is a waffle party being hosted by mom for all her family and friends at her mansion in heaven.

Mom was born in Mexico on October 13, 1941. She was baptized on June 30, 1963. Mom and dad were married on May 10, 1964 in Mexico and moved to Canada in 1970.

Alzheimer’s stole our mom away from us. We want her to be remembered as an energetic gardener, perogie-maker, cinnamon bun-baker, tambouriner, church nursery worker, cook for a crowd-meal maker, drop everything to lend a helping hand: hospitable servant of God.

She truly was God’s hands and feet on earth.

We would like to give special thanks to mom’s siblings: Uncle Peter & Aunt Irene, Uncle Hein & Aunt Leona, Uncle Cornie & Aunt Anne, Uncle John & Eleanor and Aunt Agatha. Your prayers and words of encouragement and many WhatsApp chats have helped us get through these hard times.  Also heartfelt thanks to the staff of Bethesda Place for caring for and loving on mom. See you later mom. Schlop Schein.
