Mom had many jobs, housewife, tending farm, great cook and baker, gardener, but most important was mother. She ensured the Ukrainian culture and traditions were valued by her children. Mom belonged to the Ukrainian Women’s Association of Canada (St. Olha Branch-Sirko) for over 50 years. She was also a long-standing member of the St. Elias Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Sirko.

Later in their retirement years, Mom travelled with Dad to places such as Chicago, California, British Columbia and Calgary. They would often take in festivals such as the Austin Thrasher Days, Morris Stampede, Canada Day celebrations – to name a few.

She enjoyed watching and supporting her grandchildren with their hockey, baseball and recitals, but most importantly being able to see her grandchildren graduate and begin their adult journeys.

Mom enjoyed playing cards, loved to dance, playing bingo and visiting extended family and friends.

The last number of years, Mom’s health deteriorated and she took up residence at the Vita Personal Care Home. The family would like to thank Dr. Gosselin and nurses, as well as the staff at the personal care home for their attentiveness and care of Mom.
