Obituary of Norman Proulx

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Norman on Thursday, February 10, 2022, at Ste. Anne Hospital, Ste. Anne, MB., at the age of 86.

He is survived by his beloved wife Mary of 65 years, his five children: Bob (Lucille), Carol (Todd Harms), Norman Jr. (Lynn), Cathy (Wayne Jenner), and Mary Ann (Bill Hyman); his eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren have so many wonderful memories of their pépère: Derek Saindon (Courtney and Darian), Darryl Saindon (Fran)(Lindsey and Shae), Jennifer Durr (Grant), Carley Marie, Dominique (Conor McGoey)((Kilianne, Caleb and Dahlia), Darcy (Chantal)(Brodie, Arie and Hudson), Cory (Jazmyn)(Cash, Colt and Briar), and Danielle Jenner.

He was predeceased by his parents Paul and Diana, sisters: Aurore Hupe (Marcel), and Yvonne Audette; brothers: Aurele (Marie Anna), Horace (Annette), Oram (Verna), and Rene; sister-in-law: Denise; his parents-in-law: Fred and Anna Spilak; brothers-in-law: Emile Knizat, Arthur Manaigre, Odias Manaigre (Theresa) and Don Trudeau.

Norman was born in Ste. Anne, Manitoba. He was raised in La Coulee, where he become a lumberjack at a very young age and never lost the love for it and the outdoors. Camping, boating, fishing and building were just some of his passions. Thereafter he worked for several construction companies completing many projects over 50 years.

The family is forever grateful to the staff and doctors of Ste. Anne Hospital for the care he received.

Cremation has taken place. 

A public memorial service will be held Saturday, July 9, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. at Ste. Anne Roman Catholic Parish, Ste. Anne, MB.
