Obituary of Aurora Funk

A public funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 3, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB. 

Aurora (Lola) Funk, age 93, from Salto, BS AS. Argentina, most recently from Landmark, MB., passed away peacefully, following a lengthy illness on Thursday, February 24^th, 2022, at Red River Valley Lodge, Morris, MB.

She is survived by her son John (Joly) and daughter Elizabeth (Billy), and her grandchildren, Rebecca (Craig), Stephanie (Francisco), Olivia-Sol, Anna & Andreas. She will also be lovingly remembered by her sister, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law and all her nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband Jacob Funk. Aurora was Argentinian born from Italian immigrant parents Ana Chisotti & Juan Della Bianca, studied nursing and went to Bible Seminary in Bragado, Provincia de Buenos Aires, Argentina where she met Jacob as he was learning Spanish in Seminary.

They married in Argentina, had two children, and pastored a Mennonite Congregation in Salto for many years. She was known for her compassionate spirit, Jesus- centered life that was devoted to her Heavenly Father, her husband, children & grandchildren.
