Obituary of Connie Hyde

It is with a heavy heart to tell you my sister passed away on Saturday, July 23, 2022.

Connie was the ninth child of Catherine and John Rae (both deceased). She was born in Two Creeks, Manitoba, where she attended Ross school. She taught briefly and she served a short term in the RCAF. She worked in Winnipeg with the Unemployment Insurance Commission for a number of years.

She met her husband Ian and they were married in 1965. They lived in Regina, Humbolt, Sask., and finally Winnipeg. Connie liked to cook, sew, garden and can. Connie also loved dogs. She enjoyed visiting with family and friends. Her and Ian did a lot of travelling. They sold their home in Winnipeg and moved to a retirement home. Connie then went to the hospital as her health deteriorated.

She was predeceased by her husband Ian, her mom and dad, sisters: Annie, Elsie, Jean, Tina, and Dot; brothers: Frank, Peter, Les, and Dennis.

Connie is survived by her sister Nina in Kingston, Ontario, the last of the Rae family.

She was cremated and there will be no funeral service.

Many thanks to Frank and Mavis Hyde (brother-in-law and wife) of Winnipeg, MB., for all their help. Also, thanks to Gail and Larry Rowan of Elkhorn, MB., for their many inquiries as to health. Thanks to Birchwood Funeral Chapel for the preparation for her interment.

Connie will be buried at Two Creeks Cemetery in the family plot.
