Obituary of Juney Happychuk

It is with great sadness that the family announces the sudden passing of our beloved mother, daughter, sister and aunt Juney Happychuk on Tuesday, April 3, 2007 at the Health Sciences Centre at the age of 55 after a courageous battle with breast cancer. She was predeceased by her twin grandsons Nickolas and Joseph in infancy in 2003 and her father Nick Gushuliak in 1997. Left to cherish her memory is her son Ryan Happychuk, her daughter Crystal (Raymond) Funk and grandson, Gavin. Also left to cherish her memory are her mother Rose Gushuliak, brothers Wayne (Darlene) Gushuliak and Wesley (Bonnie) Gushuliak and many nieces, nephews, cousins and their families. Juney had a zest for life. She possessed a strong willingness to help others. Juney dedicated many years working for the Borderland School Division. However, her true passion was building a lifetime of memories with her children and grandson. People from all corners of the world whose life she touched will forever be cherished by her memory; and her wonderful sense of humor and lively spirit will live on in the memory of those she leaves behind. Prayer services and viewing will be held Monday, April 9th at Birchwood Funeral Chapel 150 Penfeld Drive in Steinbach at 7:00 p.m. A celebration of Juney’s life will be held at St. Peter & Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Sundown on Tuesday, April 10 at 10:30 a.m. with interment to follow at the Parish Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire a donation can be made to CancerCare, 675 McDermot Ave, Wpg, MB, R3E 0V9.
