Norman Arthur Weiss, age 86, of Steinbach, MB, peacefully left his earthly home to be with his Lord Jesus on Saturday December 3, 2022 at Bethesda Place, Steinbach, MB, with his family by his side.

Norman will be lovingly remembered by his wife Katherine, children Nolan, Lewis (Nettie), Vonda (Wayne), Karl, as well as his grandchildren Cody (Kaylee), Colby, Dean, Clayton (Destinée), Angela (John), Shane (Mckenzie), Natasha (Josh) and great-grandaughter Maya.

He is also survived by his brother Brian Weiss, sister Doris Driedger, brother-in-law Albert Auch, sister-in-law Phyllis Weiss.

He was predeceased by his parents Paul and Alvina Weiss, son Randy, sister Marjorie Auch, brother Clifford Weiss, brother-in-law Peter Driedger.

Norman was born in Steinbach on April 13, 1936. He was raised on the family farm near Friedensfeld.

Norman married the love of his life, Katherine on November 28, 1959, and they celebrated their 63rd anniversary a few days before he passed away.

Dad was a hard worker and a jack of all trades. He was a gunsmith and operated Norm's Shooting Supplies. We spent many evenings with him at the gun range near Steinbach.  He was an avid hunter and took every opportunity to hunt deer, bear, moose, ducks and geese.  He was a crack shot and rarely missed his target.  He loved the outdoors and we made many trips to a river or lake to go canoeing and fishing.  He was a mechanic and had his own garage in La Broquerie and later in Grunthal.  He also operated Norm's Auto Service, an auto recycling service.  He operated Weiss Chainsaw Service where he sold and repaired Stihl chainsaws.  He had a strawberry and raspberry farm near Pansy.

He loved gardening and planting trees and flowers.  He also loved the mountains and was fortunate to be able to take a few trips out west.

Dad loved his family and friends and had the most contagious laugh!

Rest in peace Dad.  Your work here is done.  Your memories and lessons will live on forever in our hearts.  Our hope is in Jesus…till we meet again.

The family would like to express our appreciation and gratitude for the compassionate care from the staff at Bethesda Place.
