Obituary of Cameron Craig Calder

Cam was born in Vita, Manitoba, the second child of John and Effie Calder. He was raised and lived at Carlowrie most of his life. He attended school at Carlowrie, Greenridge, and Dominion City. Cam graduated from Dominion City school at the young age of 16. He started farming with his Dad and a few years later was joined by his brother Glen.

In 1974 he met Betty Weir, the love of his life, and they were married on June 28, 1975. On September 14, 1976, much to their delight they had a beautiful little girl Lynne, whom was her dad’s girl. In 2018, Camryn, a new granddaughter arrived and was the apple of his eye!

Cam continued to farm until his retirement. In 2012, they built a new home in Niverville. His retirement years included trips to Mexico, Australia and many winters spent in Yuma, Arizona. He enjoyed camping, pattern dancing and more recently spending time at their family cottage.

Cam was predeceased by his parents Effie (2008) & John (2012), his sister Hazel Bochinski (2021), nephew Cory Smith (2000), brother-in-law Bruce Smith (2004), and nephew Darcy Calder (2020).

He is survived by his wife Betty, daughter Lynne (Clint) Phillips, granddaughter Camryn Phillips, brother Glen (MaryAnne), sister Elaine Smith, brother-in-law Bill Bochinski, sister-in-law Dianne Baumann(Murray), as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
