Mom was always amazing with plants. When Mike and I came back from our honeymoon, we found out Mom had started an ivy plant from my wedding bouquet. We still have it and it just becomes more and more special as time goes on. She just loved doing things for people. The unconditional love she brought to our family was the greatest gift of all. Anyone who was lucky enough to know Oma over her lifetime knows how thoughtful, generous and energetic she was. I have many wonderful memories with Oma and was very fortunate to be able to grow up with her in my life. Lots of these memories included playing dress up as little kids with my brother and sister. Oma's energy was unmatched and she would always have time for us. We played lots of board games together, walked to the grocery store and thrift store, made buns and borscht, and those are just a few of the many things we did. One of my favourite things that Oma used to say was "Get a goaly!" before my hockey games. As I got older, I realized that one of the things that brought Oma the most joy was just being an Oma and Mother to her children and grandchildren. I'm blessed and forever thankful for the memories I have. - Matthew Froese

My Oma was the most energetic, thoughtful, funny, and loving person in the world. I am forever grateful that I got to spend so much time growing up with her by my side. She had the most upbeat spirit and I always had fun with her. Her humour did not disappear with age, she made us all laugh so much. She always made me feel special and important. I love you so much Oma, forever and always. It was an honour to be your granddaughter. -Sydney Froese
