Obituary of Olga Chopyk

Olga Chopyk, 65, of Zhoda, Manitoba passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 23, 2024.

Olga was a dedicated aunt to her many nieces and nephews. She loved to cook and bake, look after her cats, do arts and crafts, play games (especially crib), and make puzzles with friends and family.

Olga was predeceased by her parents Stella and John Chopyk, siblings Morris and Elise, nephews Steven and Robert, and brothers-in-law Barry and Winston.

Olga is survived by her siblings Marie Kihn, Wilma Potter (Garth), Patricia Knight, John Chopyk (Rose), Carol Friesen (Bob), and Connie Ilczyszyn (Tom), nieces and nephews Angela, Chris, Keith, Corey, Kathy, Stephanie, Candace, Matthew, and Aaron, and her many great nieces and nephews. She will be missed by family members and friends who will hold her memory dear.

The family would like to thank Dr. Gordon Dyck, The Southern Health Region Home Care Staff, and the Staff at the Vita Personal Care Home for all of the care and support they provided to Olga over the past number of years.

A private service in honour of Olga will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Vita Personal Care Home or a charity of one’s choice.
