“I was born in Winnipeg, MB on October 8, 1937. At that time my parents lived in the Grunthal area and later moved to Plumas; then in June 1948 we moved to Paraguay. I did many jobs in Paraguay including farming and logging and many other things like working on a sawmill. In May 1968 I moved back to Canada. My first job was at Friendly Family Farms in Blumenort, followed by jobs at a chicken farm, Barkman Concrete in Steinbach and at many other places. Later I started to work as a security guard and did that for many years. I have had many trials and troubles, many downfalls and illnesses. In 1982 I turned partly to the Lord but I kept the world with me; then in 1998 I came closer to the Lord but I was still faraway, but the Lord was with me. In 2009 I gave myself all to Jesus and made Him my King of all. I leave behind nine children: daughter Anna (Steve) Rhodes and grandson Christopher and his wife; son Wilfried (Charlene) and their children Corey, Benjamin and Katharina; Pauline (Daniel) Rothery and their children Crystal (Jearrett), Matthew, Amanda; Evelyn (Kenneth); Lena (Berry) Woshack; Norman (Lorra); James (Jennifer) and their daughter Azalyn; Elizabeth (Jonah) Levesque and their sons Kyle and Jordan; and Daniel. He is also survived by two sisters Nete (Jacob) Wiens and Elisabeth Flores, two brothers Jacob and Johan (Trish) and many nieces and nephews. My father Jacob Froese passed away on May 19, 1987 and my mother Elisabeth Harder passed away on November 15, 1979. My sister Justina died January 27, 2000, my brother Cornelius died on January 24, 1935 and my sister Tina in 1949. Many nieces and nephews and friends and relatives I am leaving behind to remember me, and many have gone to be with Jesus before me.” Peter passed away peacefully with family by his side at the Health Sciences Centre on June 27 at age 75. Viewing will be held on Saturday, June 29, 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. with the funeral service on Sunday, June 30 at 2:00 p.m., both at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, 150 Penfeld Drive in Steinbach.
