John Reimer It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John in his 86th year on Friday, June 28, 2013. Much beloved husband of Helen for 63 years. Loving father of Colleen (George) Cotton and Mark (Shauna) Reimer. Cherished grandfather of Caitlin, Spencer, and Maeve. Dear brother of Anne Funk and the late Jake Reimer and Diedrich Reimer. Special uncle and great-uncle of many. John was born in Altona where he completed his schooling and worked as an accountant for Co-Op Vegetable Oils from 1948 – 1953. He and Helen then moved to Winnipeg where they raised their family and John embarked on a 33-year career with Revenue Canada. He enjoyed the company of family and friends, proudly extolling the achievements of his children and grandchildren at every opportunity. John was an excellent carpenter and accomplished in the art of marquetry, giving away hundreds of his creations to family and friends. A special thanks to the 5th Floor South staff of the Victoria General Hospital for their care and attention. A memorial service in celebration of John’s life will take place on Friday, July 12, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at First Mennonite Church, 922 Notre Dame Ave. Winnipeg, MB.
