Obituary of Gertrude Shore

“They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” Isaiah 40:31 Peacefully at Bethesda Hospital on Tuesday, April 22, 2008, Gertrude Shore went to her eternal home at the age of 79. Gertrude was born on December 18, 1928, to Jacob & Maria Wall at Stuartburn, Manitoba. She married Richard Shore on July 17, 1947 and moved to Friedensfeld area in 1951. Left to cherish her memory are her seven children and their families: Gerry (Betty), John (Sandra), Leon (Denise), Elsie Reimer (Heinz), Vicky Tate (Jack), Stephen (Jeanne), Julie Friesen (Kevin); grandchildren: Heidi; Scottie, Jason; Belinda, Carl; Owen, Amanda, Matthew, Esther, Tyson; Chloe, Liam; Drew, Robyn, Mallory; Camren, Tamera; great grandchildren: Benjamin, Ana; Hannah, Drayson. She was predeceased by her husband Richard Shore in 1976, and one grandson, Jordan Richard Shore in 1993. We, the family would like to thank the staff at Cedarwood Supportive Housing and at Bethesda Hospital for their support and thoughtfulness in caring for our Mom. Viewing will be held at Birchwood Funeral Chapel on Thursday, April 24, 7:00 p.m. with a devotional at 7:30 p.m. The funeral service will be held Friday, April 25, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at the Emmanuel Evangelical Free Church, 360 McKenzie Ave, Steinbach, Manitoba, with interment at the Clearspring Cemetery, close to Steinbach. If friends and family so desire, donations in Gertrude’s memory may be made to Back to the Bible, 100 – 189 Henderson Hwy; Winnipeg, MB R2L1L7
