Obituary of Agatha Bueckert

After a lengthy battle with ill health, Agatha Bueckert passed away on July 29, 2013 at the age of 90 years. Agatha was born in Russia on October 7, 1922 and immigrated to Canada along with her parents Henry and Susanna Krahn and one brother. They settled in Niverville, Manitoba. In July 1945, Agatha married Peter Bueckert and after three years of marriage they too settled in Niverville where they raised their four children. Agatha supported her husband in his business endeavours and cared for the home. She particularly enjoyed and excelled in sewing and gardening. When her youngest daughter entered school, Agatha also worked outside the home at the town post office until her retirement. Agatha will be lovingly remembered by her children Peggy (Bob Heinrichs), their children Meaghan Heinrichs and Caitlyn (Kyle Ladobruk); Tom (Betty), their children Keith (Danielle), Candice (Marc Loeppky) and great granddaughter Taylor; Irene; Louise (Michael Smith) and their children Amanda and Carter. She is also mourned by her sister Mary Wiebe, brother Jake (Edna) Krahn, sisters-in-law Lillian Krahn and Chris Krahn as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Agatha was predeceased by her loving husband Peter in 2002, her parents Henry and Susanna, three brothers in infancy, brothers Herman and Henry, brother-in-law John Wiebe and sisters-in-law Erica and Nellie Krahn. The family wishes to thank the numerous health care providers, first at her home in Silver Courts, later in the St. Pierre Hospital and the St. Adolphe Personal Care Home, and a special thank you to Dr. Phyllis Bedder for her kind and loving care for many years. The funeral service will be held at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, 150 Penfeld Dr, Steinbach on Thursday, August 1 at 1:00 p.m. with viewing prior to the service. Interment in the Niverville Cemetery. Pastor Chris Marchand officiating.
