On Friday, January 7th, 2000, at 10:30 a.m., son and brother John Penner, passed away peacefully at the age of 35 years. He entered into his eternal rest at the St. Boniface Hospital I.C.U. in Winnipeg, with his dear mother and 5 brothers and their wives at his side. Remaining to cherish his memory are his mother, Mrs. Maria Penner, 5 brothers; Henry of Winnipeg, Jake (Helen) of Kleefeld; Dave (Linda) of Spruce Grove, Alberta; Neil (Lavonna) of Kleefeld, Pete (Laurie) of Steinbach, ten nieces and eight nephews, many relatives and friends at Kindale and special care givers Dick and Diane Krause of Ste Anne, MB. He was predeceased by his father Peter H. Penner in March of 1996. The funeral service for John Penner will be held at the Reinland Church in Grunthal on Tuesday, January 11, 2000 at 1:30 p.m. with Rev David Friesen officiating. Internment at the Rosengard Cemetery. Viewing was held on Monday, January 10, 2000 at Birchwood Funeral Chapel from 7-8:00 p.m. with a devotional, at 8:00 p.m. Pallbearers are his five brothers Henry, Jake, Dave, Neil and Pete, and oldest nephew Russell Penner. The family considers all of John’s friends at Kindale as the honorary pallbearers. In lieu of flowers those wishing to do so may make a donation in John’s Memory to the Kindale Occupational Center of Steinbach.
