Obituary of Pearl Dudek

Pearl “Nanny” Dudek It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother Pearl on April 22, 2008 at age 88. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Anthony, her parents, Nykolai and Maria, and four sisters and five brothers. Her memory will live on in her loving children, Alace (Ted Chambers), Bryan (Donna), Bill (April), cherished grandchildren Kathleen (Darren Clouston), Chandra, Cynthia (Curtis Evans), Kimberly, Chris, and Jason, and devoted great grandchildren Michael, Denzel and Carson. She is survived by her sister Helen Penteliuk, brother Harry, sisters-in-laws Olga Bodnarchuk and Carol Stanwick and brother-in-law Steve (Evelyn). She will be fondly remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Born on January 15, 1920 in Caliento, Manitoba she grew up on the family farm leaving for Winnipeg at age 18. There she met and married the love of her life, Tony in 1943. Together they raised their family of three children. She worked at several department stores throughout her marriage but always placed her family first, ahead of herself and her work. She was an avid gardener, reader and scrabble player and greatly enjoyed traveling. As a family we are thankful for having had the benefit of ‘Nanny’s’ love and wisdom for so many of our years. We will all miss her so very much. Thank you Mom/Nanny and God bless you. May you enjoy your reunion with Dad. Prayers will be said on Tuesday, May 13 at 7:00 PM at St. Bernadette Roman Catholic Church, 820 Cottonwood Road. Funeral Mass will be held on May 14 at 11:00AM at St. Bernadette Church with Father Fred Olds presiding. Mom will be laid to rest beside her husband Tony at Green Acres Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jason Dudek, Darren Clouston, Ed Bodnarchuk, Bruce Bodner, Greg Stanwick and Doug Crabb. Honorary pallbearer is Chris Dudek. In lieu of flowers, donations in Pearl’s memory may be made to AEGIS Foundation for Development, 85 Muir Roar, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R2X 1X7.
