Obituary of Palmer Frank Austinson

It is with a saddened heart that we announce the passing of Palmer Austinson on Monday, August 26, 2013 at the age of 56 years. He will be forever cherished and forever missed by his loving family, wife Marilyn, daughter Samantha (Kiel), Miranda and son Dustin, sister Harriet, brothers Oliver (Lorraine), Gerry (Caroline), numerous nieces and nephews whom he adored. Palmer was predeceased by daughter Kirsten, father Harry, mother Delima, and brother Arnold. Family was everything to Palmer and his kids were his world, his life, his breath, his joy and his miracles from God. Palmer enjoyed nature to its fullest; he loved the pines, the creek, the dusty back roads and the quiet of the wind through the trees. Spending time with his dog Sparky on these adventures was a joy for Palmer. Sunsets, picking wildflowers, feeding the wild deer in the back yard and the birds that flocked to the feeders he had built. All enjoyed with the family he loved. The simple things of God's world. The family would like to extend special thanks to the wonderful caring nurses and staff of Bethesda Hospital, Ruby at Palliative Care, and the staff at CancerCare. Thank you for caring and being there during Palmer's battle with cancer. A memorial service will be held at Salem Lutheran Church in Wampum, MB on Saturday, August 31 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Erling Hueglan officiating. Palmer was passionate about supporting the Siloam Mission, 300 Princess St; Winnipeg, MB R3B 9Z9. In lieu of flowers, we ask any donations be made out to this cause in his name. "Walking, talking, miracle from Wampum, Manitoba."
