Obituary of Irene Helene Isaak

Irene Helene Isaak, aged 83, of Niverville passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 29, 2013 at Menno Home for the Aged in Grunthal. Beloved wife of Jacob Isaak, cherished mother of Ken (Elaine) Isaak, Velma (Ian) Doerksen, Dorothy (Paul) Born, G. Paul (Sylvia) Isaak, and Phil (Kim) Isaak. Also survived by 13 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren; sister Hedy (Elmer) Andres, sister-in-law Frieda Martens, many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, an infant son Peter, her brother Theodore Martens, and her sister Wanda Toews. Irene was born in Rosetown, Saskatchewan on April 10, 1930 and moved to Niverville, Manitoba as a teenager. Jake and Irene met in grade 12 at MBCI in Winnipeg, and were married on October 21st, 1950. She assisted in many aspects of farm life and Jake’s other business ventures. For many years she made weekly visits to St. Adolphe PCH where she demonstrated her caring nature through sharing music and stories with the residents. She served her church home in the areas of girls club and music. In retirement, Jake and Irene traveled with a purpose, enjoying short-term projects in Mexico, Costa Rica, Germany and Hungary. Irene led a quiet life, enjoying her children and grandchildren. Her strong faith and trust in God was an example to those around her. Following a private family interment at Hespeler Cemetery, a celebration of Irene’s life was held Sunday, September 1, 2013 at Fourth Avenue Bible Church, Niverville.
