The family of Richard Kroeker sadly announces his sudden, peaceful passing at home at the age of 89. Left to treasure his memory are his children Michael & Leona Kroeker and their children Joel & Heather, Derek & Issa (Alfie & Ronnie), Donovan & Crystal (Rusty), Chad & Gabrielle (Élise); Clyde Kroeker & fiancée Lois, and his children Karl (Alexis), Amber & Mark Klassen (Corman, Ethan); Len & Lori Kroeker and their children Erin & Jeremy Plett, (Andrew, Corrie, Jamie, Lauryn), Dana & Evan Schroeder (Liam, Tayla), Kali & Ira Dyck (Elijah & Trinity); Teresa & Andre Barthelette and her children Tammy Hudson & fiancée Kent, Robin & Marvin Reimer (Matt, Jeff, Hadden, Jade, Kiara); Landon & friend Emma, Charlene & friend Justin (Brice); Valerie & Alec Kehler and their children Brenton and Carissa, and one sister Annie & Arnold Fast. Richard was predeceased by his wife Esther in 2007, one son Edward in infancy, one son-in-law Jim Hudson, three sisters and eight brothers. Our dad was born on September 14, 1924 to Peter B. & Elizabeth Kroeker in Clearspring, Manitoba. Dad had many jobs including working for the City of Steinbach for approx. 25 years. The past 30 years he enjoyed his job cutting the fairways at the Steinbach Fly–In Golf Course which he was currently doing until the day before his passing. Dad loved his job at the Fly In and the family was very appreciative of the opportunity he had to work there. Dad has been an avid bowler since the early 1980s and was still bowling 4 times a week. Richard had a heart for Special Olympic Bowlers. On Saturday afternoons you could always find him at the bowling alley cheering them on. Dad also really enjoyed attending church at Emmanuel Free in the recent years, never missing a Sunday. He will certainly be missed by extended family and many friends. The funeral service will be held Thursday, October 10, 2013 at the Emmanuel Evangelical Free Church, 360 McKenzie Ave, Steinbach, MB at 2:00 p.m. Donations may be made to Emmanuel Evangelical Free Church Missions Fund.
