Obituary of Diane Neufeld

Diane Neufeld, of Steinbach, formerly of Winnipeg, MB, passed away on Monday, October 21, 2013 at Bethesda Health Care Centre. She was 69 years old. Diane was born in Flin Flon, MB on August 13, 1944. She grew up in Steinbach and after high school went on to United College where she completed her B.A. and teaching degrees. She taught in Transcona for over 30 years and retired in 2000. Diane enjoyed her Tim’s coffee black, travelling, reading, doing crossword puzzles, and watching soap operas. On December 1, 2006 Diane became very ill but after many months of hospitalization and rehabilitation was once again able to live a fairly normal life. In April 2009 she moved to Bethesda Place where she received excellent care. She was a caring, loving sister, aunt, and friend. She is survived by her brother, John (Chris), her sister Barb (Harv), nephews: Patrick (Tammy), Nicholas (Debbie), and Stefan, nieces: Shannon (Colin), Karla, and Julia. She will also be remembered by her grand-nieces and nephews: Avery, Kieran, Nasya, Emma, and Brandon and special friends Wally and Irene Rempel. She was predeceased by her parents Herman and Frieda Neufeld. The Memorial service will be held at Birchwood Funeral Chapel on Saturday, October 26, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. Special thanks go to the staff of Bethesda Place for their care and friendship, Dr. Kaethler and the nursing staff of Bethesda Health Care Centre, Chaplain Larry Hirst, and Pastor Mel Letkeman.
