Obituary of Anna (Dyck) Enns

On Monday, November 25, 2013 Anna Enns, age 97 years, went to be with her Lord. Anna was born October 15, 1916 to Heinrich and Anna (Martens) Dyck, in Markovka, Ukraine. On January 5, 1941 she married George C. Enns. As a result of World War II they were forced to flee Russia in October 1943. After living in various refugee camps in Germany, they fled to Paraguay in January 1947 where they helped found Colony Vollendam. With the help of her husband’s brother and two sisters, she, her husband and five children immigrated to Steinbach in 1954, where she spent the rest of her life. Our mother was a strong woman and a survivor. She experienced many challenges and hardships during her long life but her strong faith and devotion to her family carried her through. She lived on four continents and in four countries. She worked outside the home to help support her family. After retirement she took up crocheting and crocheted 34 tablecloths for family members, which are a treasured remembrance of the love she had for her family. She loved connecting with her grandchildren and shared her faith through the stories she told them. Anna was predeceased by her parents, three brothers, two sisters, her husband George, son Henry, daughters Anna and Helen and granddaughter Heather. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her son George & Joyce Tremmel Saskatoon, SK (Galen & Marion, Seth, Max; Nathan & Kristin; Joe, Madison, Joey, Brooklyn, Brayden) and daughters Mary & Earl Unger (Steinbach) (Randy & Shannon, Tyson; Darlene & Tony, Tyler, Josh & Jeanine; Micheal & Jodi), Anne & Eric Froese (Steinbach) (Jeremy & Samara; Tim & Meredith, Azure, Zane, KinKade; Bob & Janaya, Magnolia, Ivan), Nettie & Mark Strople (Wpg) (Braden), Tina & Rick Greifenhagen (Wpg) (Kyle & Nicole; Ashley), Linda & Ken Janzen (Plum Coulee) (Jordan & Gwendolyn; Jayme & Carolyn; Joel; Jacylyn) and daughter-in-law Olga Krassioukova- Enns (Wpg) (Dmitri) and son-in-law Bill Rademaker (Wpg) (Chris & Jodi; Corey & Nicole; Char & Zack). Viewing will be held Thursday, November 28, 2013 at 7:30 p.m. with a devotional at 8:00 p.m. and prior to the funeral service, at Steinbach Mennonite Church, 345 Loewen Blvd., Steinbach, Manitoba. Funeral service will be on Friday, November 29, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Steinbach Mennonite Church. Interment will follow at Heritage Cemetery, Steinbach, Manitoba. Thank-You to all the care workers at Fernwood, Maplewood Manor, Bethesda Place, and also to Dr. Thiessen and Dr. Reimer for the loving care.
