Wesley K. Wohlgemuth was born to Frank & Elizabeth Klassen Wohlgemuth on February 27, 1943. Our father, grandfather, and great-grandfather passed away tragically at the Grey Nuns Hospital in Edmonton, Alberta on November 25, 2013. His early years were spent in the Ste. Anne, MB. area, living on the family farm and working together with his father and brothers. His father and mother loved him dearly until they left this world. He was baptized on June 12, 1955 by Min. John M. Penner. He was united in marriage to our mother, Cheryle Penner for 28 years. To this union was born one daughter and two sons. We grew up in the Swan River and Cartwright locations until we moved back to the Greenland area in the fall of 1986. From there he moved to B.C. and married Danelle Koehn. He lived at many places in his life, making friends wherever he went. His interest and love of people never waned. When it came to Dad’s livelihood, he was a hard worker in the construction industry. He was talented in every aspect and very meticulous. His work had to be done perfectly or he would not do the project. We felt a softening in our father in the recent years, and a yearning to be with his children and grandchildren. We had pleasant times visiting him in the last several years and our children enjoyed getting to bond with their grandpa. We leave him in the hands of a loving God. We as a family would like to thank Uncle Ken & Aunt Carolyn for their special care of Dad in his last weeks. He leaves to mourn his children: Ronna & Lorne Bartel, Sheldon & Liz Wohlgemuth, Jay & Colleen Wohlgemuth, all of the Steinbach area; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; one sister Ruth & Dennis Froese, Sinclair MB; three brothers: Norman & Lorna Wohlgemuth, Alexandria, Ontario; Ken & Carolyn Wohlgemuth, Swan River, MB.; Raymond & Florene Wohlgemuth, Cartwright, MB.; two sisters-in-law: Erlene Wohlgemuth, Steinbach, MB., and Ruth & Leonard Unruh, Grafton, N. Dakota. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers Leonard, Dennis and an infant brother Albert. The funeral service will be held on Monday, December 2, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel. Interment at Heritage Cemetery, Steinbach, Manitoba.
